The Great British Bake Off

The Great British Bake Off was a brilliant show to work on. There were a few challenges throughout the process, but overall we created a really strong production. For this show I was the Stage Manager, which isn’t a role I’m planning to pursue long-term, but I thoroughly enjoyed it in this context. I created detailed schedules and meeting reports to keep everyone informed, and I was responsible for organising all backstage activity, including set moves and prop tables. Alongside this, I also worked as Sound No. 2. I managed all the radio mics before and after each show, making sure every cast member had the correct microphone. During mic checks I assisted Josh (Sound No. 1), adjusting gain levels and helping organise the cast. After every performance it was clear that the audience really enjoyed the show, and the same was true for the cast and crew, which made the whole experience even more rewarding.
