When we began working on The Addams Family, our goal was to push the boundaries of what we could achieve with the set. We successfully designed and built an innovative, two-part folding table that spanned two levels of the stage, adding both functionality and visual interest.
Although the limited rig meant we couldn’t use dedicated specials for each scene, the six moving spot fixtures provided ample flexibility to highlight specific actors during isolated moments. Additionally, I incorporated a significant amount of atmospheric smoke, an iconic element of The Addams Family, which complemented the moving beams and enhanced the overall visual impact of the production.
