Jam’s Jam was a really interesting and unique style of gig. Named after the tech manager, the event brings together people from all musical backgrounds to play and listen to music in a relaxed, collaborative setting. Some participants bring their own instruments, others use what’s provided, and some simply come along to enjoy the atmosphere.

I was called in later in the evening, around 18:30. Once I arrived, I set up a few lighting states and created a pre-show look. I had a bit of freedom to experiment with the lighting, though the setup was positioned where the audience would normally be, which came with a few limitations. Still, I managed to make it work and ensured everything was well-lit and visually engaging.

Although Jam couldn’t make it on the night, Jerry stepped in to run the event, and it still turned out to be an incredibly fun and upbeat evening. The range of musical genres and performances really highlighted the talent and creativity within the local community.
